SHOOTING IN EAST FLATBUSH

SHOOTING IN EAST FLATBUSH

Carolina Leid has the details from East Flatbush.

Police are frantically looking for a suspect after two men were shot, one fatally in East Flatbush.

Detectives spent most of the night going door-to-door talking to everyone they can, trying to get the information they need to get the clues to crack the case.

There were loud cries and a look of disbelief from the father of Gary Walker, the 33--year-old who was killed. The man was shot in the face outside the family's East Flatbush home. A 31-year-old man was also shot in the back. He is currently in Kings County Hospital where he is in serious condition.

"We just heard gunshots, and we just thought it was like a regular shooting around the neighborhood, but we didn't know it was here," said Samantha Jean, "And then we went outside, we saw a body outside and another body.

Right now, police are trying to figure out what led up to the shooting - it is not known whether the two men even knew each other. Family members say they, too have few details.

Neighbors say the area around East 56th Street between Church and Snyder Avenues is a quiet block, normally free from crime.

"It gives me pause, makes me re-assess what I was thinking about," says George Wilson.

"It's really sad. I hate to know something like this is happening on my block. I hope it never happens again," adds Eustac Benjamin.
